Welcome to the Collegiate Surfing Association

The Collegiate Surfing Association(CSA) is a not-for-profit corporation founded by surf industry veteran Mitch Varnes and Attorney Jack Kirschenbaum. The organization is headquartered near Sebastian Inlet, Florida.

The CSA has been created to provide post-secondary students the opportunity to continue competing while focusing on attending college and pursuing collegiate degrees and to allow colleges and universities to compete against one another for state and national championships and to draw attention to surfing as a legitimate competitive sport.

The CSA enjoys the support of the Eastern Surfing Association, surfing's largest member organization, and whenever possible holds their regional championship events to coincide with events of the ESA.

The Collegiate Surfing Association's inaugural Southeastern regional championships kicked off yesterday at Florida's famed Sebastian Inlet with several of the Sunshine State's colleges and universities vying for the association's first ever title.

With clean one-to-three feet surf, clear skies and temperatures in the mid-seventies, the surfers competed in the CSA's innovative tag-team format allowing surfers to not only work as a team but also individually in that they are able to claim their top wave of each heat.
