Sebastian Inlet has long been recognized as Florida's finest surfing
spot and one of the best on the entire East Coast. The surfing
action takes place on the north side of the north jetty among a
trio of breaks known as First, Second and Third Peak. First
Peak is the break closest to the jetty.
Sebastian Inlet is located directly off State Road A1A on the
Brevard and Indian River County lines. The Inlet is situated
approximately 18 miles south of Indialantic (State Road 192).
Airports serving the Sebastian Inlet area include Orlando International
(about an hour and a half away) and Melbourne International Airport
which is about 30 minutes away and served by Delta Airlines.
If travelling by car, the following are typical driving times
from various Florida cities:
Miami - 2 hours
West Palm Beach - 1 hour, 30 minutes
Vero Beach - 30 minutes
Cocoa Beach - 45 minutes
Daytona Beach - 2 hours
Jacksonville - 3 hours, 30 minutes
Gainesville - 3 hours, 30 minutes
Tampa - 3 hours
Orlando - 1 hour, 30 minutes
The surfing breaks are within the Sebastian Inlet State Park,
which offers excellent amenities. There is a daily admittance
fee of $3.00 per individuals or $5.00 per carload.
